Marie’s block number 5 -Pair of Golden Eagles – Complete!

marieHere are my Golden Eagles among the Aspens. Maybe now I can go back to making more of the eleventy million green leaves called for on this quilt. ~Marie

(The fabric Marie used for the birds is very special – It came from a dear friend who lives in Belgium – She had been saving the fabric for more than 20 years, hoping to find something special to do with it – Well, Katrine, here it is!!)~ Susan

Susan’s block number 5 – “Pair of Golden Eagles, in process

Just starting the next block. I made the bias strips for the vines using my handy tool.

biasSome people asked about how I baste onto construction paper, so I will explain:

1.  First I number the pieces on the complete paper pattern.bird on paper

2. Next, I use a lightbox to trace the shapes onto construction paper and number them.

3.  Then I sew the paper onto the fabric (Which I don’t have a photo of yet)
